Pottery Workspace for the Masses
Hoi Polloi \ˌhȯi-puh-ˈlȯi\ noun plural: Greek, the many, masses, riff raff, rabble, ordinary people, the general populace, the great unwashed, commoners…
We are an open pottery workspace in North Boulder, Colorado for people who need a place to work.
We value the HOI POLLOI, the Masses, and the diversity that they bring to our community, and we welcome everyone into our ceramic studio, whether it’s through monthly membership, drop-in studio sessions, or individual lessons.
I was introduced and came to love art at a very early age. I can remember watching my mother as an artist with great curiosity and admiration as a little girl. Whether she would be teaching in her class, sculpting or painting in her studio, it all led me to discover my appreciation for art. Creating is in my blood. I always felt a calling to art, but never had the time with my growing family. Now that my children are grown, I have now made my day to day life in art. There is nothing I would rather do as hours seem to fly by when I'm in my studio.
I work with acrylics, oils, and some times mixed media in my paintings. I also have recently found a new passion in watercolor. I enjoyed illustrating a 27 page children's book. Putting illustrations to someone else's words was creatively challenging, and a lot of fun.
My work has been on display at Gallery 222, in Leesburg, Virginia and Clarke County Historical Association's "Art at the Mill", in Millwood, Virginia.
I now live in Boulder, Colorado where I have a studio creating and working almost every day. I'd be there every day if I could, but life gets in the way.
